World Population Day 2025: Beyond the Numbers

NTC-supported activities in the lead-up to Uganda's 2025 commemoration highlighted youth participation, health, dignity and the role of inclusive local development.
Uganda's national commemoration created space to discuss population, dignity, health, rights and inclusive development. The year's focus examined how the Parish Development Model can contribute to better outcomes through locally responsive service delivery.
NTC supported a school debate, hybrid youth dialogue and participation in the national event. Young people called for meaningful involvement in policies and development strategies, reinforcing the principle that decisions are stronger when youth help shape them.

Key message: Population is about more than totals. Progress depends on whether people can make informed choices, obtain services and participate in a healthy, equitable and sustainable future.
