More than 30 years of standing with young people

Naguru Teenage Centre (NTC) is a Ugandan non-governmental organisation dedicated to improving the health, rights and livelihoods of adolescents and young people. Formerly known as Naguru Teenage Information and Health Centre, NTC was founded on the belief that every young person should have access to respectful, confidential and age-appropriate information, services and opportunities. Today, we work with communities, health facilities, schools, government institutions, youth structures, civil-society organisations and development partners to deliver youth-friendly health services, strengthen health systems, promote positive social and behaviour change, influence policy, advance social accountability, generate evidence, embrace digital innovation and expand opportunities for economic empowerment.

Our goal is to see adolescents and young people in Uganda healthy, productive and empowered to lead fulfilling lives. We create change by meeting young people where they are, connecting them to quality information and responsive services while strengthening the systems and communities that support them. We engage parents, caregivers, health workers, cultural and religious leaders and other duty-bearers, while placing inclusion, safeguarding and meaningful youth participation at the centre of our work. Through evidence, partnerships and community feedback, we empower young people with lifelong health knowledge and care, strengthen their skills and economic resilience, build collaborations that advance health, rights, equality and economic justice, and continuously strengthen NTC as an accountable, agile and sustainable organisation capable of serving generations of young people.
