For too long, teenage pregnancy has been discussed in statistics,percentages, prevalence rates, and distant numbers that obscure a deeper truth: behind every data point is a girl whose future hangs in the balance.

In Dohwe Parish, Namayingo District, we decided to look behind the numbers. We convened an intergenerational dialogue that brought together the people whose lives are most affected, adolescents, parents, community leaders, and health workers. Not to lecture. Not to prescribe. But to listen, to share, and to find solutions together.The dialogue began with a simple but radical act: creating space for everyone to speak honestly. And speak they did.

What emerged was not a list of demands from outsiders. It was a community-owned commitment to protect their girls rooted in honest conversation about what was really driving teenage pregnancy in their midst.
