Word From Our Execuitive Director
Dr Ampwera Rodgers
For nearly 30 years, the Naguru Health Centre (NTC) has been a pioneer in championing the health and rights of Uganda’s young people.
It all began in 1994, with a simple yet powerful idea: create a space where adolescents could access respectful, confidential sexual and reproductive healthcare. Founded by dedicated gynecologists and volunteers at Naguru Health Centre, with early support from UNICEF, that single clinic has grown into the registered NGO we are today.
Our journey—from a clinic, to a community organization, to a national NGO—has always been guided by the needs of the young people we serve. Our youth-friendly model, now based at Kiswa Health Center III, has not only transformed individual lives but has also helped shape national health policy and programming.
As we reflect on our history, our commitment remains unwavering. We carry forward the legacy of our founders with gratitude and look to the future with resolve. NTC will continue to be a place where every young person can find the information, support, and care they need to build a healthy, empowered future.
Thank you for being part of our story.
