Today, the Naguru Teenage Centre (NTC) team successfully delivered assorted Adolescent and Youth-Friendly Health (ADH) materials to supported health facilities across Adjumani District. This activity is part of NTC’s ongoing commitment to strengthening adolescent health services and ensuring that facilities are well-equipped to provide comprehensive, youth-centered care.
During the delivery, facility in-charges and ADH focal points formally received the materials, signing acknowledgment forms to confirm receipt. Copies of these forms will be retained both at the district office and the Adjumani field office, ensuring proper documentation, accountability, and monitoring of resource distribution.
The delivered materials include essential tools, educational resources, and service delivery supplies designed to enhance the quality of care for adolescents and young people. By equipping health facilities with these resources, NTC ensures that service providers have the necessary support to implement adolescent-friendly practices, deliver accurate health information, and address the unique needs of young clients.
Adolescent health is a critical focus area, as young people face multiple challenges in accessing sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services, including stigma, limited information, and inadequate infrastructure. By supplying ADH materials, NTC strengthens the capacity of facilities to overcome these barriers, promote health-seeking behaviors, and create environments where adolescents feel welcomed, respected, and informed.
This initiative also aligns with broader national and partner efforts to improve adolescent health outcomes, reduce teenage pregnancies, prevent HIV transmission, and promote healthy lifestyles among young people. Proper documentation and acknowledgment of the delivered materials ensures that resources are tracked, managed efficiently, and utilized effectively, reinforcing transparency and accountability within the health system.
The activity in Adjumani District highlights NTC’s holistic approach to adolescent health, combining capacity building, resource provision, and community engagement. By empowering both service providers and young people, NTC continues to contribute to the creation of resilient, youth-friendly health systems that respond to the real needs of adolescents in Uganda.
Through these efforts, NTC demonstrates that ensuring access to quality adolescent health services is not just about availability, but also about equipping facilities and staff with the right tools, knowledge, and support to make a meaningful impact on young people’s lives.
