Today, the Naguru Teenage Centre (NTC) team conducted a social accountability follow-up meeting at the Omiya Anyima Sub-county Headquarters in Kitgum District. The meeting brought together local leaders, health workers, and young people to review progress and address the key challenges affecting adolescents in the community.
Discussions focused on several critical issues, including limited access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and the need for more targeted community sensitization. The participants also emphasized the importance of supporting midwives and health workers with continuous training and guidance to reduce stigma toward teenage mothers and ensure that health facilities remain safe and welcoming spaces for all.
The session served as both a reflection and an action point , assessing how far the community has come since previous engagements, while identifying practical steps for continued improvement.
Through open dialogue and collaboration, NTC and its partners continue to strengthen community-driven accountability, ensuring that young people’s voices shape the policies and services that directly impact their lives.
Together, we can create a supportive environment where every young person feels valued, informed, and empowered to thrive.
