The dialogue brings together representatives from civil society, government ministries, development partners, and health sector actors to reflect on Uganda’s current health financing landscape , identifying opportunities, challenges, and sustainable pathways toward universal access to quality healthcare.
For NTC, participation in this platform is both strategic and necessary. As an organization dedicated to promoting adolescent and youth-friendly health services, NTC recognizes that financing remains at the heart of effective health delivery. Without sustainable investment and equitable allocation of resources, many young people, particularly adolescents, continue to face barriers in accessing the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services they deserve.
During the discussions, participants are examining the current health budget trends, community financing mechanisms, and the role of partnerships in strengthening Uganda’s primary healthcare system. NTC’s engagement focuses on advocating for inclusive health financing , one that prioritizes adolescents, young women, and other vulnerable groups whose needs are often underrepresented in policy and funding decisions.
Through this national platform, NTC is amplifying the voices of young people, emphasizing that financing is not just about numbers, but about the human stories behind the statistics , the girl who needs access to contraception, the boy who needs counseling, or the community health worker who needs resources to deliver services efficiently.
The dialogue also serves as a space for civil society to engage directly with policymakers, fostering accountability and collaboration. It aligns closely with NTC’s ongoing mission to influence systems and policies that ensure health equity, dignity, and rights for all.
As the conversation continues, NTC remains committed to contributing evidence, insights, and lived experiences from the communities it serves , ensuring that the financing debate translates into real progress for Uganda’s young population.
Together, we move toward a future where every Ugandan, regardless of age or background, can access quality, affordable, and respectful healthcare.
