Today, a highly engaging flash mob was conducted at Pagirinya I Settlement, Dzaipi Sub-county in Adjumani District, attracting a large number of young people who gathered to learn, share, and celebrate empowerment through action. The event, strategically held over the weekend, created a vibrant atmosphere that merged entertainment with education, reaching many adolescents with crucial Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services.
A key highlight of the activity was a captivating performance by Drama Without Border, a refugee-led drama group that delivered a powerful play illustrating how poverty continues to drive child marriage and teenage pregnancy within communities. Their performance was not only entertaining but also deeply reflective, shedding light on the everyday realities faced by young girls and families across settlements.
The flash mob’s interactive approach successfully encouraged dialogue and awareness around SRHR, helping break barriers that often prevent young people from accessing essential health services. The event demonstrated how creativity and community engagement can come together to promote positive behavior change and inspire collective responsibility toward ending harmful practices.
Such initiatives reaffirm the importance of empowering youth voices in the movement for healthier, more informed, and resilient communities.
