Today, the Naguru Teenage Centre (NTC) team continues its commitment to empowering young people through meaningful engagement and capacity-building. Our Project Officer for Madi Okollo District, together with the District Coordinator under the SHE SOARS Project, is conducting the Quarterly Peer Educators Reflection Meeting at Madi Dream Hotel in Madi Okollo District.
The SHE SOARS Project is an initiative designed to empower Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) continues to create safe spaces for dialogue, peer learning, and growth. This quarterly reflection meeting brings together passionate peer educators from across the district to share experiences, challenges, and success stories gathered from their community engagements over the past months.
Peer educators remain at the heart of our community-based interventions. They are the bridge between young people and essential sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services, equipping their peers with accurate information, combating myths, and promoting positive health-seeking behaviors. Through this forum, they are reflecting on their work, identifying gaps, and planning stronger, more inclusive approaches for the next phase of implementation.
During the meeting, discussions have centered on improving outreach strategies, enhancing SRHR knowledge dissemination, and strengthening linkages between communities and health facilities. Peer educators are also receiving refresher guidance on data collection, mentorship techniques, and inclusive communication to ensure that every young person ,regardless of gender or background, has access to the information and services they deserve.
This reflection space is more than just a meeting ,it is a movement of young changemakers learning from one another, re-energizing their purpose, and committing to collective impact. By fostering peer-to-peer support and collaboration, NTC is nurturing a network of youth leaders who are not only informed but also equipped to inspire and lead transformation within their communities.
As the discussions unfold, one message stands clear: empowering young people through continuous reflection and mentorship strengthens the foundation for a healthier, more equitable future. The SHE SOARS Project continues to prove that when youth are equipped, supported, and trusted, they become unstoppable agents of change.
Together, we’re not just reflecting, we’re reimagining what youth empowerment can achieve.
