Under the Spotlight Initiative, we are holding an interface meeting with community stakeholders in Iyolwa Sub-county, Tororo District. This gathering brings together young people, community leaders, and local government representatives , all with one shared goal: to strengthen collaboration in promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
The meeting builds on the insights gathered from the recent youth consultative forums, where young people openly shared their experiences and challenges. Among the key issues raised were limited access to accurate SRHR information, persistent myths about contraception, and low awareness around safe sexual practices.
By creating a safe space for dialogue, this interface meeting allows both youth and community leaders to identify practical steps toward lasting solutions. It’s an opportunity to align local efforts, share ideas, and promote accountability in ensuring young people receive the knowledge and services they need.
Through the Spotlight Initiative, we continue to champion open communication and inclusive participation ,because real progress begins when every voice is heard.
Together, we can build stronger, healthier communities that protect and empower their young people.
