Under the Spotlight Initiative, we are currently holding a micro consultative forum with young people in Iyolwa Sub-county, Tororo District. The goal is simple yet powerful that is to listen, learn, and understand the real challenges young people face when it comes to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).

During these discussions, several key issues have stood out. Many participants highlighted limited access to accurate SRHR information, both at home and in schools. Others expressed low condom literacy, revealing that many young people are still unsure about proper use and effectiveness. We also noted the widespread myths and misconceptions about contraception, which continue to influence decisions and attitudes among adolescents.

These honest conversations are more than just discussions , they are the first step toward change. The insights gathered will guide our next interface meeting with stakeholders, where we aim to explore practical ways to strengthen SRHR awareness and education across the community.

Every young voice matters, and through open dialogue, we can work together to build a healthier, well-informed, and empowered generation.
