EYE-SRHR

Naguru Teenage Centre (NTC), with support from the Government of Norway through the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), is implementing the EYE-SRHR for Universal Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights project in Kamuli and Mayuge districts from 2023 to 2025. Delivered in consortium with UNFPA, CARE Uganda, and Marie Stopes Uganda, the project—titled My Body, My Life, My World—responds to persistently high teenage pregnancy rates in the Busoga region. It focuses on ensuring that adolescents and young people, particularly adolescent girls and young women, have access to comprehensive, integrated, and youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health information and services, enabling them to make informed decisions about their bodies and lives.

Grounded in Uganda’s youthful demographic and the urgent need to harness the demographic dividend, the EYE-SRHR project addresses key barriers facing young people, including limited access to SRHR services, harmful social norms, and weak accountability mechanisms. Through community dialogues, micro consultative forums, and interface meetings with duty bearers, the project strengthens demand for services, improves service delivery, and fosters an enabling environment free from coercion, discrimination, and violence. By empowering young people to voice their concerns and engage constructively with leaders, EYE-SRHR contributes to reducing unintended and teenage pregnancies, preventing maternal deaths, and advancing the health, rights, and wellbeing of young people in Kamuli and Mayuge.
